What to do when you have an accident:
  • 1.

Protect yourself, your auto and any other property from further damage as best you can.

  • 2.

CALL POLICE as soon as possible if someone is injured, damage is extensive, your vehicle has been stolen or you need assistance.

  • 3.

Don’t say you’re liable or sign a statement unless it’s authorized by insurance company.

  • 4.

Fill out the auto accident form below (touch the big orange button) while you are at the accident scene. When everything is filled in, hit the send button and it will go directly to Goff Insurance Agency. We will use this for your records to help you when reporting the claim.

  • 5.

Report the claim to Goff Insurance Agency or to ERIE as soon as possible. For your convenience, you can also report the claim on ERIE’s Web site at www.erieinsurance.com. or call ERIE Claim (800) 892-5655. If you are commercial driver, let your employer know about the accident right away.

IMPORTANTTake photos of the autos prior to moving them. Especially in a parking lot, since police normally will not file reports in private parking lots. Photos tell the story and identify who is AT-FAULT. Get as much information from the other person (claimant) quickly, because once police arrive, they will not allow you to talk to each other and this slows down the claim processing.

Any time you are rear ended, be prepared to the claimant may drive away because they are uninsured. You need to get their license plate in case they are uninsured, the insurance company can pursue the individual legally and your deductible is not engaged. If you have a (Hit and Run) accident, the insurance company has no recourse but to file an at-fault accident and enforce your deductible.
